TOK Beauty is a magnetic lash brand, where you do not need glue to apply. I have seen this trend going around lately and I was happy to find a Canadian boss babe who made and produced her own. That’s where we meet Tara! She is the creator and owner of them. These false lashes are lashes that require a magnetic application, this is the new trend seen around social media lately. I have been dying to try these but I did not know where to start or what brand to try from, as I was very intimidated about them. The only difference is they are applied with two lash bands that magnetize together, one top lash and one bottom lash, instead of the common lashes as you only use one lash band to apply with glue or adhesive. They have three tiny magnets on the lash bands to connect and stay on your existing lashes, one on either side and one in the middle. So no glue is required at all!
So, I had been following TOK Beauty for a while and I saw that she was going to be in Winnipeg at Portia Ella for her Meet the Maker event! I knew I had to go and meet Tara! I absolutely love meeting the face behind the brand. Meeting Tara was awesome; I could tell she loved makeup and beauty and loved her lashes so much. I asked to try out - It Takes Two Silk Magnetic Lashes in Medium, which at first glance, looked almost similar to Mink lashes. They are so fluffy and give you the illusion like you are wearing lash extensions. She does have more natural ones but lets get serious I LOVE A DRAMATIC LASH! Mine were in medium because my eyes are in the middle, she does carry long and short for different eye shapes.
So how do you apply these false lashes? Well Tara actually has her own Youtube Video HERE of how to apply them. Make sure you check it out! But as always lashes should always be the last step in your makeup routine that includes coating your lashes with mascara. I find the lashes stay on better. Once you have completed your makeup look, you can try to put the lashes on with two hands but that is definitely hard. The lash applicator is where its at! Since the applicator is metal, the lashes stay to the applicator as seen in her video HERE top lashes go on top and bottom lash go on bottom make sure the magnets are facing their correct way, then you put it between your natural lashes, press down, and THERE YOU GO! LASH GAME STRONG!
So why magnetic lashes? Well, honestly no mess. No waiting for glue to dry and if you are an avid lash wearer, you won’t have to deal with constantly cleaning the gunk from your eyes. Like I said before, no glue is required. Considering most lash adhesives are made out of latex and most people are allergic… thats no bueno! Also can I add they are perfect for those windy days, these bad boys are not coming off! The look is absolutely gorgeous and makes your makeup look amped up a couple notches. To remove them you put your fingers on the outer part of the lashes and gently slid them apart to break the magnets and thats it! I also love how easy they come off and painless with little to no trouble!
Now with this being said, this applicator makes it so easy to apply. And as always practice makes perfect. Without the applicator, I definitely would not have had the same success. Can we talk about the Lash applicator is only $5.00 CAD! Thats amazing! You can find that HERE!
Unfortunately, these lashes are pricey. They retail for $79.99 (CAD), but I was told by Tara, that if taken good care of, they will last you a long time. The lashes are made from 100% handmade silk , so you know they are super soft and luxurious! I know that there are a lot of different magnetic lashes out there but give TOK Beauty a try! I know they are a huge investment but they are definitely worth a try. I promise you will not be disappointed!
I know I have a huge drawer filled with false lashes, but I’m so excited to add these to my makeup routine! I can’t wait to wear these out all the time as you don’t have to wait for any drying time. Or getting frustrated when the glue you thought was ready to apply on weren’t and then your perfect makeup look gets ruined by lash glue….Not fun. But I know that these magnetic lashes will quickly become my go to favs!
