Read moreDIY Fall Wreath
Hi Everyone! I figured since sometimes its easier to read than watch a video or vice versa! I figured I'll be uploading my new video but also a blog post on how to create a great DIY Fall Wreath in pictures. So I hope this helps, But I will also link the video for you watch as well!
So if you live in Canada, we have a store called Dollarama and they have a lot of affordable accessories to make wreaths, everything is roughly around $1.25 to $2.00 sometimes more but nothing over $3 or $4 dollars.
These are some of the decor that I got are large leaves, smaller leaves, felt pumpkins, smaller pumpkins, and acorns, as well as orange and yellow sunflowers.
And as always your key to making this wreath is having a lot of glue sticks and a glue gun, scissors and a stapler.
So now for the wreath, I found this wreath from walmart and it was half off as part of the wreath was missing so that was a bonus it was roughly $8 or so instead of $20 which some go by. Of course it was black that doesn't matter we will be covering it up!
So to start it off, use the bigger items so which would be these giant leaves to cover all the black and basically glue and staple and cut the stems off. This part took the longest.
Next part I decided to use the large pumpkins since I only had 3 and place them in this manner and use a lot of glue!
Next up is the felt pumpkins, they were unfortunately in a garland strip and so this took a while to cut and separate them. I only used 5 colours, which included 2 orange, 2 maroon and 1 brown and I spaced them around it.
The next part is my fav, because these sunflowers I felt put the look together. So remove the flower from stem and then cut the little stem so that they can lay flat and bend them the other way so they can open up and see their true beauty!
Next... those acorns I bought big ones from the dollar store so I knew I would use two of those, but I had some smaller sparkly acorns that I thought would for sure look great! so fill those in with that glue gun!
Some people would definitely stop there because it does look pretty full and complete, but for me I really wanted to add some more red elements. So I took out the smaller leaves in red and orange to glue inside the part where black is still showing.
Pretty much filling up not necessarily the entire black showing but most of it.
And there you have it, your finished wreath that cost way less than $30 or even $20. ENJOY!!!!
Thank you so much for reading and let me know if you learned anything from this? Or if you have made a wreath before. This is definitely my first one!
And if you want to see this video I uploaded to my Youtube Channel here is the link!

What I’m bringing to the hospital! (Hospital Bag) (2nd time around)
Ok! This mama is getting a little antsy! I am officially off work for now for health and medical reasons (nothing to worry about) but just baby and mommy come first before work! So I wanted to share what I am actually packing for the hospital, since literally the first time I packed for baby number 1, I packed wayyyyyy too much! That bag was just so heavy! Super unneccesary!
So I figured to share what I am packing and what are essentials are packed and ready to go. Because apparently the second time around the baby could come early, or late but who knows! You’ve can never be too prepared I guess! lol
When I started thinking about packing, I realized that the original bag that I used was way too big and not practical! Because the first time no one told me what to bring and googling just didn’t help, so I thought I was packing accordingly but girl, I really had NO idea what to pack.
So today this is what is my hospital bag!
I’m sharing pictures as well as to what exactly I am bringing!
I started by laying everything out on our bed, and then grabbing medium size ziplock bags and that’s how your packing should be so you will see everything and not be fidgeting trying to find everything! Because in the moment who doesn’t freak out trying to find what you are looking for exactly!
So here you go!
WHAT’S IN MY BAG & HUBBY’S TOGETHER!
- Both our Wallets – Medical health card, Drivers license and cash money for the vending machine if it’s midnight and since everything is closed.
- Toiletries - Nipple Cream (mama) lol, Toothpaste/Tooth brush/Mouthwash and Deodorant – His & Hers (all travel size)
- Snacks for Hubby – (since I get fed at the hospital during our stay!) – Cliff Bars, Protein bars, Bananas etc. (there is also vending machines as well as restaurants near by)
- Extra pads/depends for adults – the ones at the hospital are alright but just in case.
- Palmers Coco butter – I’ve been using this one in particular to put over my belly during pregnancy to help with stretch marks so even after baby you will need it too!
- Skincare – I’m packing makeup wipes as well a face wash, even hand wash, because the soap at the hospital is harsh and smells like medicine! So gross!
- My Makeup bag – Trust me this is bare minimium so I don’t look like death, like I did last time! Lol! Brow pencil, Eyeliner & Mascara & Chapstick.
- Hair stuff – Extra hair ties, hair brush, and dry shampoo. (All travel sizes)
- Slippers– His & Hers, Whatever your favorite comfy slippers are but also not the prettiest either you are at the hospital so if you are ok with getting them dirty!
- Socks – Two pairs. Comfiest the better! His & hers!
- Bandeau Bra – so easy to nurse with and comfy without hurting your neck like a nursing bra or dealing with clips and buttons etc. so much easier!
- Super lose Tank top – to put over top your bandeau bra (easy to nurse).
- Cozy outfit – to wear once you get home, loose t-shirt + comfy sweats that you use to netflix and chill. For Him - Sweats + a T-shirt as well as a hoodie for him sleeping.
- Granny Panties – something high and comfy and that you think that are ok to get dirty because girl they will (TMI) Bring a few*
- Phone/Phone Charger/Camera – His & Hers
- Blanket – a small one for hospital, something that you’re ok to get dirty (you are at the hospital) (use theirs if you can)/for him too!
PACKING FOR BABY!
- Infant carseat – Do not bring into the delivery room just leave it ready in the car! Once you get discharged you, make your hubby to go get it and bring it in!
- Outfits – one sleeper and one shirt, bottom & hoodie with socks and a hat too (beanie) for the car ride home.
- Newborn diapers and some wipes - #secondtimemom so basically I use pampers swaddlers in Newborn and Pampers Sensitive wipes!
- Blanket – for the carseat and in delivery room the blanket they have aren’t very soft!
- Nursing Pillow – essential for the first time nursing! Helps with for once baby sleeps you can use as a pillow as well.
Hope this helps anyone reading this who is a first time mama or second time mama like me!
Leave a comment below on what is the most important hospital bag essential that you need!
All the best on your new arrival!

Fall Is Officially Here!!!
Happy Labour day everyone!!! I have truly enjoyed this long weekend with a staycation! I'm seriously so excited now that fall is here for so many reasons! One we are back to routine and that baby girl #2 is coming super soon in October and I can't wait to see the leaves fall down and its the start of flannel, scarves and boots! The weather is truly showing us more chilly weather which I'm ok with I love hoodies and sweats, seriously my favourites!
Fall is one of my favourite seasons by far! Especially those fall candles and of course you guessed it PUMPKIN EVERYTHING!!! LOL
Say what you want, but I am truly a pumpkin lover! I always look forward to fall because it is the one and only time that we get to enjoy pumpkin everything! Pumpkin Pie and of course Pumpkin Spice Latte's!!!
My amazing friend bought this Starbucks mug for my birthday last year and I'm so excited to use it for the limited time that PSL is available! So today was the day! I went to Starbucks and ordered my grande PSL and wow is it ever a treat!
That is truly how I feel about PSL or anything pumpkin. It is a special treat you get to enjoy near the end of the year for a short period of time. Its not year round thats why I love it. I look forward to it and every time I take a sip I fall in love more and more with it!
I don't know if this mug is available, but I'm sure Starbucks will some sort of similar mugs for this fall season.
If you are not a pumpkin lover than that is absolutely ok. There are a lot of things I personally don't necessarily love but that is ok too.
So cheers to all my PSL friends and lovers, this ones for you!

Freya's 2nd Birthday!
Hi everyone! I really wanted to share with you all, my daughter Freya's Birthday celebration this past Saturday, August 26th, 2017 (actual birthday is Aug 30th). I just hope you don't think that I went too crazy for her birthday, its just that I love party planning and creating a fun environment for the kids and for adults to enjoy an afternoon. Party planning is definitely one of my creative outlets for decorating because my mom has shown me the ways on how to make things looks presentable! I definitely got that from her thats for sure. I will mention/link everything that I used if you live in Winnipeg to make your party a wonderful success.
At the end of the day, yes, Freya won't remember her 2nd birthday party but for me its the memories I want her to know that I truly love birthdays and I love planning them for my kids and that I will cherish forever and I'm really sure she will too!
So first things first is the Balloons, I ordered them thru Party Stuff on Regent (winnipeg) and they were by far amazing to picking colour themes with what I wanted exactly. Heres a picture to explain.
I decided to go with two (2) giant Minnie Mouse Heads and then Party Stuff does suggest with floor length balloons to go with 7 or more in total balloons so I have 8. Especially with color selection I had to have a pink heart cellophane balloon in there to make it stand out.
I also ordered two (2) more balloons with a full body Minnie Mouse and of course a yellow star cellophane balloon in there to make it stand out. This time I didn't want red for the party I really really wanted more pink elements and I think it looks really nice.
And of course I only had purchased one number 2 for the party in gold and I absolutely love it! This time I used all the colours for the latex balloons and no cellophane since the 2 itself stands out so much! I loved it so much one of my favs and as well as having at least 7 balloons in total. Heres the link: https://www.partystuff.ca/pages/locations
Other decor pieces that I purchased were from Party Stuff as well included: a few of these Minnie Mouse Happy Birthday signs and as well as that streamers of course no pictures but they are in the reflection of the picture as well as hanging from the side of the sign below.
One thing that is something that I have learned to love is creating such great DIY crafts I made these with my awesome friend Bri! she is amazing, I hope you all find someone like her one day!
Pinterest is seriously such an amazing app! It helps you find some cool and fun ways to make decorations without breaking the bank. So basically how to make these were I found the plates at Dollar Tree and I bought a small size and large black paper plate sizes, the wooden sticks (they didn't have anything long enough so we put two together. As well as crazy was it for the bow for Minnie Mouse, I found a pink butterfly shaped paper and I literally cut the ends off and shaped it to a bow and it worked magically I know my imagination scares me sometimes. lol!!! and then I just sharpied the knot on the bow part and I used white out to make the white dots and voila glue gun is your friend and everything stays solid. one of my proudest moments because this task was inexpensive but time consuming and thank you to Bri for helping me make these, with two people we flew threw them! xoxo
And of course a Bouncy Castle! Who doesn't love one!!!! For Freya's 1st Birthday we ordered from AF Rentals OMG THEY ARE AMAZING! Super easy to work with. So of course I would go with them again. For Freya's 1st birthday we had a Dora themed birthday but they didn't have a Dora bouncy castle so we went with Paw Patrol. This time around we used a Princess bouncy Castle which was great considering no one looks at it like it doesn't match the Minnie Mouse theme.? lol And all the kids loved it, they all bounced until they came and picked it up! lol!!! www.afrentals.ca if you live in Manitoba and need one they have awesome bouncers. Highly recommend.
Last but not least the Cake! omg my mouth is watering! and is seriously so pretty! My friend Melissa Janzen on Instagram under @kayleeandcholescakes does amazing work you should check her out this cake was awesome to look at it was super delicious that it was literally all gone!!! She lives in Winnipeg, if you are looking for a great baker. She definitely my gal to do more future bakings. She also made these super cute Minnie Mouse Cookies they are super delicious and each packed one by one! Just amazing! Tell her I sent ya!
I almost forgot to mention, we ordered from Danny's Whole Hog from Stonewall, Manitoba. http://dannyswholehog.ca They have a great catering service as well as pick up for all your food needs. My amazing madre made Chilean Meat Empanadas (because I am Chilean) and as well as her famous Spanish Rice, everything was super delicious! I didn't get a chance to take a picture before most of it was eaten but this is mid of the people eating it. So we had Buns, Potato Salad, Cesar Salad, Meat balls, Pulled Pork, Vegetables and then my moms empanadas and rice. Yes everything was so delicious!
And just a few more pictures of our afternoon! It was truly special. We also had my awesome friend Geo who's mom makes one of a kind piñata's so she made one last year for Freya and it was Dora and of course she did not disappoint this year and made a Minnie Mouse one. I truly love when kids hit the piñata and then have their bags ready for the kids to grab all the candy! Of course Freya had the first swing at things lol!
After the piñata was done and over with we sang happy birthday and had the lovely dessert for our friends.
And of course waiting until everyone was happy full and fed we opened presents for our little one all she could do was concentrate on eating her chips she found on the table lol... We had so many pictures to chose from I only will share two of them lol!
After we said our thank you's to my mother in law for letting us use her wonderful house for this party and for everyone attending. My awesome friend Bri who took most of these pictures for us!!! (forever grateful!!!) was like you both need a picture and my husband is not one to take pictures but we got it!
My awesome friend Geo gifted us the Minnie Mouse/Mickey Mouse ears. Our awesome t-shirts we found online, Jeff's was from Amazon.ca size Large and mine was from Forever 21! Yes! Seriously! Needless to say that it was just a large is crazy with this pregnant belly I actually fit in it! lol! And Freya's Minnie Mouse shirt was from the Disney Store in Size 4 here in Winnipeg.
I am truly thankful that the day was really honestly perfect! It was cloudy was it wasn't too hot or humid it was perfect weather to be outside, it was super nice and cool! With and a huge backyard that has an awesome deck to sit outside and a place where kids can run around and enjoy the bouncy castle. I am truly blessed.
Especially to my husband Jeff, for being such a huge super hero with traveling everywhere running all the errands to pick up the necessary items for the party, the cake, balloons and especially the awesome food! While I stayed home to be with our little one making sure she napped so she wasn't cranky for her own party! lol! Just being a true sport and helping me do this for our wonderful daughter and because I'm super pregnant! (two more months! YAY!) I can’t say thank you enough.
Also, a huge thank you to everyone who came, who showed us so much love and laughed and drank and just seeing you there meant the world to us! … and lastly, thank you Freya for letting me be your mama you are truly the best little human to happen to me and Im so thankful that I can create awesome memories for you when you grow older!!!
XOXO, Leslie
